FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Unfortunately, there can be various reasons why users might have issues receiving notifications (e.g. Internet connection or Google Notifications-Service). Please note that you will always only see the latest notification from TorAlarm on your phone.
If you frequently feel like a notification has not been received on your phone, please verify the following:
- Are notifications and all teams that you want to be informed about enabled in the app's settings?
- Do you receive notifications from other apps? Are there other apps that require an internet-connection working?
- Ensure you have granted TorAlarm permission to send notifications in your phone's settings. You can find these here: Settings > Apps > TorAlarm > Notifications.
- Please check in Settings > Connections > Data Usage > TorAlarm whether 'Allow Background Data' is NOT blocked.
- If you use cleaning apps like Clean Master, it might be possible TorAlarm can not run properly because its background processes may be blocked, causing you to not receive notifications. We suggest to deactivate such apps for a short period to test if TorAlarm notifications are received.
- Are the Google Play Services installed? You can download those here : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.gms
- If you use a Huawei-Phone, please do the following:
- In your phone's settings > protected apps > TorAlarm > enable.
- In your phone's settings > Notification Manager > TorAlarm > enable notifications & enable high priority.
- If none of this helps:
- Enable/Disable one of the football teams in the TorAlarm-App for a short period.
- Check if you receive goal notifications in the next match.
If you are not receiving any goal alerts, please inspect the following:
- During football games, are you using a mobile web connection or WLAN?
- Have you turned notifications on and selected the teams you would like to be notified about within the app's settings?
- Do you receive any notifications from other working apps on your phone which require internet?
- Please check as well if you allow notifications for the app in your iPhone-Settings: Settings > TorAlarm > Notifications > activate "Allow Notifications"
If you are finished inspecting all possible causes listed here and the problem persists, please attempt the following:
- Change or redo your selected team settings in TorAlarm.
- On the next game, check if you receive notifications again.
Huawei-Devices lower than EMUI 5
Please check the following:
- In your phone's settings > Protected Apps > enable TorAlarm.
- In your phone's settings > Notification Manager > TorAlarm > activate "Allow notifications" & Activate "Priority display".
- If you can't find TorAlarm there try this:
- Settings > Advanced Settings > Battery Manager; you should find Protected Apps when you click on Power Plan.
- Now check if you receive notifications for the next football match.
Huawei-Devices EMUI 5 and higher
Please check this in your phone's settings:
Apps > Settings > Special Access > Battery-Optimization: Instead of "Permitted" select "All Apps"
Now you can set TorAlarm to "Permitted". Now TorAlarm is on the blacklist for the doze mode, which means that the app is not switched to standby mode so that the issue with notifications should be resolved.
Within your app's settings, navigate to "Enable teams", tap on the country you are interested in and activate every team you wish to receive notifications for.

Within the widget, you see all current matches of the competitions you have added to your "Favourites-View" inside the app. If you wish to see more matches, simply add more competitions to your favourites.
Important note: We apologise that the widget is no longer supported with the iOS 18 operating system, but we can inform you that we will work on a new version.
In order to stop notifications for teams, it is not enough to remove the competition from the home screen of your app. Teams must be deactivated via the "Select teams" section within the app's settings.
For this problem, please go to your device's settings, locate 'Sounds and notifications' and within the 'Notifications on lock screen' choose 'Show content'.
We apologize for the limited use of the TorAlarm app on the Apple Watch, but can announce that we are working on a new version of the TorAlarm Watch app.
Within the settings of your smartphone, please check if "High contrast fonts" is activated within "Accessibility" > "Vision". This may lead to the live-results being shown in black instead of red.
On your Android device, check whether you have changed the notification sound (not the "ringtone"-sound). These are different settings and may sometimes cause confusion.
Changing the sound volume via your button(s) on your Android device only has an effect on your ringtone volume, not on notifications.
You can find this setting on Android (e.g. Samsung) in:
Settings > Sounds and Vibration > Volume
If you use an Android mobile phone with operating system 8 or higher, please check as well whether the sound for the app is correctly configured in your Smartphone's settings. For this, follow this path:
Smartphone-Settings > Apps & Notifications > TorAlarm > Notifications.
Please ensure that your device is not muted and has sound activated.
If that is the case and you are still not receiving an acoustic signal, check within your iPhones 'Notification' settings whether TorAlarm's sounds are activated.
Please check if your device's ringtone is not muted:
Settings > Sounds > Volume
Please also check that the "Do not disturb mode" is not enabled.
Starting with Android version 8, please also check whether the sound for the app is set correctly in the settings of your smartphone:

Please check in the settings of your smartphone how you have set up notifications for the app. To do so, please follow this path:

There, you should be able to adjust how the notifications arrive on your smartphone, including with or without vibration.
With the new update, we now take into account the font size settings that our users have made in the mobile phone settings.
Please check the font size you have set in your phone's settings. You will find these settings as follows:
Smartphone settings > Display and background > Font > Font size.
There, you should be able to change the font size. If you choose a smaller font size, the display in our app also adapts.
Please check in your device's system settings which time zone is activated. All kick-off times are dependent on your phone's set time zone, located in 'Date and time'.
To get the correct kick-off times for the United Kingdom, you must set your phone's time zone to UTC+00:00.
You may find the in-app purchase to remove ads in TorAlarm's settings. Go to "Premium Settings" and follow the instructions as seen on your device.

TorAlarm Premium is linked to the user's respective account. The accounts are provided by Apple and Google and are linked to the billing systems of these companies. For this reason, there is no possibility to transfer the Premium membership from iOS to Android or from Android to iOS. Therefore, in case of a change, it is necessary to unsubscribe first on the "old" device and then resubscribe under the new system. Currently, we offer a discounted introductory price to new customers.
We would like to ask you to check in the app whether the corresponding slider is set correctly.
Please go to the TorAlarm app and click on "Settings" > "Premium Settings" > "Manage ad-settings". When you have subscribed, you can then choose whether you still want to see the odds. This slider should be turned off. If the slider is set to "On", please set it to "Off" and check if the settings have been applied.
Start the app again if necessary.
Please locate and tap on the "Support" button within TorAlarm's settings and follow the instructions on your screen.
